Director Kim Han-min announced that "Noryang: The Sea of Death," the concluding film in the trilogy centered on Korea's historical figure, Admiral Yi Sun-sin, will premiere in local theaters on December 20. The trilogy, which includes "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" (2014) and "Hansan: Rising Dragon" (2022), encapsulates the admiral's convictions and perseverance.

During a press conference held at Lotte Cinema in Gwangjin District, Seoul, Kim Han-min emphasized the profound message carried through the trilogy. The upcoming action film portrays the Battle of Noryang during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598), focusing on Admiral Yi (Kim Yoon-seok) preparing for the final major combat to defeat the retreating Japanese force from Joseon, concluding the war.

The director expressed that "Noryang" incorporates the knowledge gained from working on the previous films, describing the Battle of Noryang as the largest naval battle in the East Asian region, aptly named the 'Sea of Death' due to its scale and duration.

Different actors portrayed Admiral Yi in each installment – Choi Min-sik in the first and Park Hae-il in the second. In the concluding film, Kim Yoon-seok takes on the role. Kim Han-min highlighted the synergy achieved through the combination of elements from the first two films.

Kim Yoon-seok acknowledged the weighty responsibility of portraying the heroic Admiral Yi Sun-sin but was convinced to join the project after reading the script. He noted that "Noryang" delves into the inner struggles of Admiral Yi, requiring him to carry the image from the preceding films, "Myeongnyang" and "Hansan."

The director praised the ensemble cast for their excellent performances and emphasized the profound emotional impact expected when viewing the film in theaters.
