Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg created a buzz on Wednesday by revealing a 7-foot-tall statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan, on Instagram. The statue, commissioned by Zuckerberg, was crafted by New York-based artist Daniel Arsham and is situated next to a tree in what appears to be a lush garden.

In the Instagram post, Chan, holding a mug that matches the statue’s color, playfully commented, “The more of me the better?” The design of the statue, featuring a flowing silver garment, combines elements of ancient Roman sculpture with a futuristic T-1000 from Terminator 2. Zuckerberg noted that the inspiration was derived from the former, captioning the photo with “bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife.”

The sculpture showcases a reflective silver robe enveloping a bluish-green figure, reminiscent of a digitally smoothed version of the weathered and oxidized copper seen in the Statue of Liberty. The statue’s striking appearance and size have led to online comparisons to characters from Avatar and jokes about Zuckerberg being the ultimate “wife guy.”

Zuckerberg and Chan met in 2003 while they were both students at Harvard University. They have been married since 2012 and have three daughters.

Daniel Arsham is known for his work across sculpture, architecture, drawing, and film, exploring the concept of “fictional archaeology.” His most recent exhibition, “Phases,” was held at Fotografiska New York earlier this year. Arsham is represented by Perrotin and was recently accused by his studio employees of violating national labor laws, according to a complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board.
