Korean artist Yaerim Ryu's first solo exhibition, 'You and Your Sweating Palms' is held in Berlin.
Ryu is the only Korean exclusive artist of the contemporary art gallery, 'Peres Project', which has branches in three countries: Germany, Italy, and Korea. The Peres Project introduces various international artists and exerts a great influence on the contemporary art world through the discovery and exhibition of emerging artists.
The artist has recently attracted great attention in the domestic art world with a group exhibition held at the Seoul National University Museum of Art.

She draws on the theme of community and people in the place she imagined. In the solo exhibition, the story of the foggy suburbs and imaginary communities centered on the new work 'You and Your Sweating Palms(2023)' of the same name is captured in the painting.
The exhibition was planned with the inspiration and imagination gained in an unfamiliar space by the artist who recently moved to Berlin. She was inspired by the sight of others sweating while exercising in an unfamiliar city and the foggy, cloudy weather in Northern Europe.

Her work has no particular meaning or connection with the title. The artist uses this to break down traditional customs by completing a picture of a narrative unrelated to the title.
Her solo exhibition is at Peres Project Berlin until January 9th, 2024.
