In a statement released on Friday, Woollim Entertainment announced that K-pop artist Kwon Eun-bi will be making her acting debut in the upcoming Japanese film, "Stolen Identity: The Last Hacker." The film, slated for a fall 2024 premiere in Japan, marks the third and final chapter in the "Stolen Identity" series, with the first two installments having been released in 2018 and 2020.

Adapted from Akira Shiga's novel, "Stolen Identity," the crime-thriller series centers around the characters Yoshiharu Urano, portrayed by Japanese actor Ryo Narita, and police investigator Manabu Kagaya, played by actor Yudai Chiba. Kwon Eun-bi will be taking on the role of Soomin, a mysterious character residing in Seoul.

Woollim Entertainment expressed confidence in Kwon's acting abilities, stating in a press release, "Kwon Eun-bi will be showcasing the acting skills that she has been polishing for a long time." The agency also confirmed that there will be scenes in which Kwon delivers lines in Japanese.

The "Stolen Identity" series has not only gained traction in Japan but was also adapted into a Netflix film titled "Unlocked" in Korea. The Korean remake, released in February, featured actors Yim Si-wan, Kim Hee-won, and Chun Woo-hee.

Kwon Eun-bi, who initially debuted as a member of the girl group Ye-A in 2014, gained prominence through the cable network Mnet's girl group audition program "Produce 48" in 2018. She secured a spot in the project girl group IZONE, which achieved nationwide success, setting a first-week album sales record with the 2020 release of "BLOOMIZ." The group disbanded in 2021 upon the expiration of their contracts. Kwon released her first solo EP, "Open," in August 2021 and has since continued her career as a solo artist.
