On April 29th, the Netmarble Cultural Foundation held the 16th Netmarble Game Concert at their headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. The event, which has been held since 2019, aims to promote a healthy game culture through an open forum that invites experts to share insights and experiences.

This year's theme, "Game and the Future," explored the role of games in the midst of technological advances such as metaverse and generative AI, as well as their impact on education. The event featured lectures by Sungkyunkwan University Professor Choi Jae-bung and Easy Contents Research Institute CEO Lee Dong-gun.

During Part 1 of the lecture series, Professor Choi Jae-bung discussed the role of games in the digital age, emphasizing the need for creativity and imagination to become successful in the ever-changing world. He discussed the influence of technology on society and how games can contribute to the digital transformation of civilization.

In Part 2, CEO Lee Dong-gun explored the concept of "gamification," where game elements are incorporated into non-game contexts such as education. He highlighted the importance of understanding the needs and characteristics of users when developing educational games and software.

The event was attended by over 300 people and included a Q&A session and a performance by the Coway Mulbitsori Choir. The Netmarble Cultural Foundation plans to continue holding these concerts to promote a healthy game culture and foster education through games.

In the post-coronavirus era, the foundation has shifted to hosting offline events, and the next concert is set to take place in June. As the world becomes increasingly digital, events such as the Netmarble Game Concert provide an important platform for exploring the potential of games and their impact on society.
