The first season, released in two parts last month and on Friday, unfolds a gripping narrative set in 1945 Gyeongseong, depicting Imperial Japan's creation of a monster through biological experiments during the period just before Korea's liberation from Japanese rule. Starring Park Seo-joon as Jang Tae-sang and Han So-hee as Yoon Chae-ok, the storyline revolves around their characters' pursuit of missing individuals amidst the backdrop of experimental activities in a hospital.

Following the recent release of its second part, the 10-episode first season secured the third position in Netflix's latest weekly ranking for non-English TV shows.

Netflix revealed that Season 2 will shift its narrative to Seoul in 2024. The storyline will introduce a character named Ho-jae, bearing a resemblance to Jang Tae-sang, alongside Yoon Chae-ok. Together, they will unravel enigmatic events and connections in the new setting.

Director Chung Dong-yoon expressed, "Season 2 presents a story with a completely different charm." The change in space and time period aims to provide a clear distinction and offer an expanded universe feel, according to a release from Netflix.
