Starship Entertainment's newest boy group Idid is set to make their official debut on Monday with the release of their first extended play (EP). The K-pop agency, which has successfully managed popular acts including Monsta X and Ive, announced the debut of their latest group following an extensive selection process.

The seven-member group consists of Jang Yonghoon, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yoochan, Park Seonghyeon, Baek Junhyuk, and Jeong Semin. All members were selected through Starship Entertainment's YouTube-based survival audition program called "Debut's Plan," which served as a platform to identify and train potential idol group members.

According to Starship Entertainment, Idid was formed as a team that was "selected after being verified for the qualities an idol should have, such as dancing, singing, fan communication skills and expressiveness" throughout the competitive survival show process. The rigorous selection process ensured that each member demonstrated the essential skills and characteristics needed to succeed in the competitive K-pop industry.

The group's debut EP is titled "I did it," which the agency describes as capturing the unique identity of the team while reflecting the members' inherent emotions and energy. The album serves as an introduction to the group's musical style and artistic vision, showcasing their potential as rising stars in the K-pop scene.

The eight-track EP features a diverse range of songs, including the lead single with a Korean title that roughly translates to "Brilliantly Wayward," along with additional tracks titled "Slow Tide," "Step It Up," and "Sticky Bomb." Each song was carefully selected to highlight different aspects of the group's musical capabilities and versatility.

The lead single "Brilliantly Wayward" is characterized by its free and energetic vibe, according to Starship Entertainment. The song combines the members' refreshing vocals with a lively instrumental arrangement led by acoustic guitar and rhythmic drums, creating an upbeat and engaging sound that aims to capture listeners' attention and establish the group's musical identity.

To commemorate their debut, Idid has scheduled separate showcases for both media representatives and fans in Seoul. These debut showcases will provide an opportunity for the group to perform their new material live and interact with their audience for the first time as an official K-pop group, marking an important milestone in their journey from survival show contestants to professional entertainers.
