South Korean singer PSY has called for the elimination of ticket scalping for his upcoming "SUMMERSWAG 2024" tour. The tour begins on June 29 in Wonju, Gangwon Province, and will make stops in nine cities across South Korea.
The demand for tickets has been substantial, with ticketing platform Interpark recording over 8 million hits per minute on the first day of sales on June 10. The high demand highlights the significant public interest in PSY's performances.
In response to the issue of ticket scalping, PSY addressed the matter directly on his social media account on Wednesday. He urged fans to avoid purchasing tickets from resellers and scalpers who take advantage of legal loopholes.

PSY stated, "If you thoroughly ignore premium prices, resellers, and scalpers exploiting legal loopholes, I will ensure that canceled tickets are made available on Interpark the day before the cancellation fee applies (11 days before the concert)." He also mentioned that starting from 10 days before the first concert in Wonju, remaining seats would be released, and the same would apply to other cities on the tour. He encouraged fans to purchase tickets at the correct price through official channels and expressed hope for stronger related laws.
PSY's agency, P Nation, acknowledged a significant increase in the number of scalped ticket postings this year. The agency is actively working to track and block scalped tickets, collaborating with major secondary market sites to remove such listings. However, P Nation admitted that completely preventing secondary market transactions remains challenging due to the exploitation of legal loopholes.
The agency emphasized that the best way to avoid inflated prices is to purchase tickets through official platforms such as Interpark. P Nation also advised those needing to cancel their tickets to do so within the cancellation period on Interpark, where remaining tickets can be purchased at their original price.
The "SUMMERSWAG 2024" tour, known for its energetic performances, is anticipated to attract large crowds, making the availability and accessibility of tickets a significant concern for both the artist and his fans.
