IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, issued an apology on Tuesday for inadvertently banning a fan club member while attempting to filter out illegal ticket sales for the "H.E.R" Seoul concerts held last month.
The agency implemented an "undercover agent policy" to identify and cancel illegally resold tickets. This policy encouraged people to report suspicious activities, resulting in the cancellation of 44 tickets to IU's "2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert in Seoul," held on March 2, 3, 9, and 10.

Among the affected individuals, five were members of IU's fan club, Uaena, who were expelled from the community and stripped of their membership status. Additionally, 29 general buyers, not affiliated with the fan club, were prohibited from joining the fan club in the future and banned from purchasing IU concert tickets.
The agency faced criticism when a fan reported having their ticket canceled despite providing evidence that they had paid a friend to purchase the ticket on their behalf. Subsequently, the fan's club membership was revoked.
In response to the incident, EDAM Entertainment issued a statement expressing sincere apologies to the affected fan and IU. The agency announced the rollback of the reward system for reporting suspected ticket scalpers and lifted bans imposed on those expelled from the fan club under the previous policy.

Moving forward, the agency pledged to thoroughly review all cases to ensure fair treatment and implement appropriate measures for each situation.
The "2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert in Seoul" marks IU's first tour in five years, following her last tour concert, "Love, Poem," in 2019. The tour commenced in Seoul last month and will continue in 17 cities worldwide, including Yokohama, Taipei, Singapore, and London.
During the Seoul concerts held at the KSPO Dome last month, IU performed for a total of 15,000 fans. She is scheduled to hold two encore concerts at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 20 and 21.
