Combined with the advent of high-performance computers and the needs of users who crave more realistic graphics, the level of game artworks is changing beyond recognition.
Looking at the background scenes, characters, and animators of recent games, you will feel strongly that game artworks are now reaching the level of popular art beyond the simple screen level that constitutes games.
The high quality of game arts, which is both colorful and realistic, is a basic requirement, and it is enough to give art directors the perception that it is one of the separate art fields with infinite imagination and creative ideas.
This is why "Nextage", a game art exhibition hosted by Nexon, Korea's leading game company, is drawing more attention.
"Nextage" will run for a total of 50 days from Dec. 10 to Jan. 29 next year at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul, South Korea.
"Nextage" displays a variety of game artworks, including characters, backgrounds, and animations, based on Nexon's famous game IP, as separate and individual works.

Certain games are rated good and bad by gamers, but game arts adds interest in that it receives cold reviews from ordinary art lovers, not gamers.
A total of 115 works was submitted for "Nextage." These works are selected from a total of 15 game arts, ranging from Nexon's representative mega-hit game IPs such as "Maple Story", "Dungeon & Fighter", and "Mabinogi", to new works that are preparing to be released, such as "Kartrider: Drift", "Mabinogi Mobile", and "Pracia Electric".
Nexon has made the exhibition hall very special so that visitors can feel the immersion of entering the game world and facing the character. In other words, all works and exhibition halls were composed of multimedias. This is possible with some support from LG Electronics, the world's largest multimedia device company.
Nexon is scheduled to set up a "talk with art directors" of major works in the form of on-site events in January, so visitors to the exhibition hall are expected to have a more detailed, more interesting, and more serious approach to game arts.
Nexon said the exhibition was organized to spread the cultural value of simultaneous love that promotes the artistry of the game not only for gamers but also for the general public. Anyone interested in game art can watch it for free without a reservation.
Game graphics, which was only one element of the game, are gradually changing its perception as another concept of the arts. In this atmosphere, the specially prepared "Nextage" is drawing attention from many aspiring art students and art directors in the game industry.
