Seongryul, the first Korean artist to win the Grand Prize at the 16th Japan International Manga Award, is holding his first solo exhibition at Albus Gallery in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The exhibition, titled Sunshine and the Shade, features works that capture spaces and moments destined to disappear, using watercolor and acrylic techniques.

The artist’s clear and transparent colors and precise brushstrokes depict everyday scenes that evoke forgotten times and places for viewers.

This exhibition showcases over 100 pieces, including original works from his graphic novel In the Summer and large-scale watercolors.

Seongryul’s works reflect his intent to slow down time through analog mediums in an art world increasingly dominated by digital creations driven by artificial intelligence.

The exhibition runs until September 29 and is open to the public, except regular closures on Mondays.
