JYP Entertainment, a prominent player in the K-pop industry, has purchased a 10,675-square-meter plot of land in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, from Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation. The acquisition will be utilized for the construction of a new office building that will serve as the company's headquarters.

This strategic move, as announced by JYP Entertainment, aligns with their mid-to-long-term business plan to enhance office space and bolster work efficiency and productivity. The agency's current headquarters, situated near the Olympic Park in Seoul's Songpa district, has been in use since 2018.

JYP Entertainment, originally established as Tae-Hong Planning Corporation in November 1997 by South Korean singer-songwriter Park Jin-young, was later renamed as JYP Entertainment in 2001. The company has continued to experience notable growth, reporting sales of 151.7 billion won (approximately $112 million) and an operating profit of 45.7 billion won in the second quarter of this year.

This upward trajectory is expected to persist into the third quarter, driven in part by the success of their girl group, Twice, which recently completed a successful stadium tour in the United States. Additionally, their boy group, Stray Kids, achieved their third Billboard 200 chart-topping release.

Further expanding their influence, JYP Entertainment is set to introduce a new girl group, VCHA, comprised of six foreign members, with the aim of localizing K-pop in the United States.
