Hello? This is Artcaster Eyeon.
“Deranability,” which has attracted great interest even before the opening, is being held with a warm response.
In this exhibition, 80 artists with developmental disabilities and the works of established artists who support them are displayed side by side.
This exhibition is a very special event that transcends boundaries and shows the true value of art.
Let's take a look at the three observation points of Dream Ability.
Let's follow the first, divided into five sections! This exhibition is composed of 5 sections: ‘Finally’, ‘Here’, ‘This kind of sentiment’, ‘Across borders’, and ‘Take the first step’.
It is even more interesting to appreciate the work by following the messages in each section.
Second, let's examine the title.
As well as various materials, this exhibition contains various stories of artists with developmental disabilities, such as memories, hopes and dreams.
In particular, titles that are as poetic as pictures stimulate the artist's imagination.
In Kim Ki-hyun's “Story of Trees”, trees with different appearances are deeply rooted.
The artist talks about the vitality and diversity of trees by looking at the strata of different colors and terrain.
The title of Park Gyu-sun's work is 'A person who thinks of Alaska while walking in the neighborhood'. This piece makes people imagine what Alaska would look like as a walker.
Third, let's take a look at the various ways of expressing the artist's image well.
Artists use various materials such as acrylic, oil painting, pastel, watercolor, oil pastel, and mixed media on canvas and creative expression techniques.
Their works, in which images and imagination are well reflected, awaken the viewer's thoughts and allow them to immerse themselves in the world of art.
“Dreamability”, the main title of the exhibition, is a new word meaning the ability to dream, the courage to overcome adversity and not lose hope.
The exhibition ‘Dream Ability’ means to break down the barriers between disabled and non-disabled people with a brush and draw dreams rather than limitations.
This week's recommended exhibition. The exhibition will continue until the 27th of this month at the Seoul Arts Center.
