YG Entertainment, the prominent K-pop agency, introduced its latest girl group, Babymonster, with the release of the digital single "Batter Up" on Monday.

The debut marks the emergence of YG Entertainment's first girl group in seven years since BLACKPINK.

Babymonster, a seven-member rookie group, features talents selected from an open competition across three Asian countries: Korea, Thailand, and Japan. The members are Ahyeon, Haram, Rora, Pharita, Chiquita, Ruka, and Asa.

"Batter Up" is characterized by a dynamic track, incorporating YG's signature hip-hop style with a powerful build-up towards the end. The title of the song, a reference to the next batter up in baseball, reflects the group's ambition to make a transformative impact on the music industry.

The composition credits for "Batter Up" include member Asa, AKMU's Lee Chan-hyuk, Treasure's Choi Hyun-suk, and YG's chief producer Yang Hyun-suk.

In a statement through the agency, Babymonster expressed their happiness on the debut day, emphasizing their commitment to showcasing a unique musical color that sets them apart in the industry.
