During a press conference at MBC's headquarters in Mapo District, Seoul, Lee expressed her enthusiasm for the project, citing the intriguing script as a key factor in her decision to take on the role. The series, adapted from a web novel of the same name, delves into a fantasy romance narrative following the journey of Park Yeon-woo (portrayed by Lee), a woman from the 1392-1910 Joseon Kingdom who finds herself transported to modern times.

In the 19th-century Korean setting, Park anticipates a joyous life with her husband, only to face tragedy on her wedding night when her husband succumbs to illness, and she is abducted, ending up in 2023. Here, she encounters Kang Tae-ha (played by Bae In-hyuk), a wealthy heir who strikingly resembles her late husband. The narrative unfolds as they become entangled in a contract marriage, navigating the complexities of their intertwined fates.

Directed by Park Sang-hoon, known for his work on the 2017 comedy series "Radiant Office" and the 2018 action series "My Secret Terrius," the series is poised for its premiere on Friday.

Director Park expressed his conviction that Lee Se-young was the ideal choice for the lead role, emphasizing her similarity to the original character and praising her exceptional personality and leadership. Lee, in turn, conveyed her attraction to the character's ambition and the coming-of-age narrative.

The actor highlighted her preference for roles that undergo growth throughout the story, emphasizing the importance of portraying characters with flaws who evolve by the series' conclusion. Lee shared her excitement about depicting the aspirations of her character, Yeon-woo, who, confined by the limitations of the 19th century, seeks to break free and realize her dreams.

Despite the success of her previous period role, Lee emphasized the distinct nature of each character, expressing her hope that viewers will approach this series with a fresh perspective. She aspires for the audience to enjoy the story and engage with its underlying messages, placing emphasis on the uncertain outcome and the journey rather than focusing on past successes. The series is set to debut, and Lee Se-young is optimistic about viewers finding enjoyment in the unfolding narrative.
