Cube Entertainment announced on Wednesday that Yuqi, a member of K-pop group (G)I-dle, has secured the top position on the iTunes top albums chart in four regions with her debut solo EP.
According to Cube Entertainment, Yuqi's solo EP also attained placements among the top 10 on iTunes top albums chart in 19 regions worldwide.
Upon its release, Yuqi's namesake album achieved remarkable sales figures, surpassing 263,000 copies sold on the day of its release. This performance positions the EP at No. 6 in the first-week sales records for a K-pop female singer.
All seven tracks featured on Yuqi's solo EP, including the main track "Freak," entered Melon's Top 100 chart upon their release, reflecting the widespread popularity and positive reception of her music.
Notably, Yuqi is the first member of (G)I-dle to release solo music since dropping the digital single "A Page" in 2021. However, she becomes the third member of the group to release a solo album, following in the footsteps of Jeon Soyeon and Miyeon.
