Actor Lee Jin-uk, widely recognized for his role in the 2015 film "The Beauty Inside," has taken on a distinctly different character in Netflix's apocalyptic horror series "Sweet Home." In the recently released Season 2, Lee portrays Pyeon Sang-wook, a scarred thug with a mysterious past, whose body is inhabited by the parasitic monster human Jung Ui-myeong.

In an interview in Seoul, Lee emphasized the unique challenge of playing a character vastly different from his previous roles. He acknowledged the positive feedback received for his portrayal, describing the character as one that will linger in his memory.

Based on Naver's webtoon, "Sweet Home" gained global popularity with its twisted post-apocalyptic narrative, fantastical elements, and intense gore. Season 2 introduces new characters, expanding the storyline into an all-out survival war against the monster curse.

Lee addressed viewer concerns about increased complexity in the new subplots, suggesting that many questions could find resolution in a potential Season 3. He expressed confidence that revisiting the series would be an enticing prospect for viewers after experiencing the upcoming season.

With a career spanning from his 2003 debut as a Panasonic model, Lee has ventured into various acting projects, including TV series like tvN's "Nine-Times Time Travel" and the 2018 crime thriller "Voice 2" on OCN. His film credits include the 2016 sci-fi thriller "Time Renegades" and the 2021 romance "A Year-End Medley" directed by Kwak Jae-yong.
