Originally published as web novels, these webtoons had already gained popularity in North America, securing top positions on Tappytoon’s English web novel chart. "The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway" was initially released in Korea in 2019, reaching around 200 countries through Tappytoon in 2022. The webtoon adaptation, released on Tappytoon in 2022, garnered 4 million views last year.
Contents First's move to release these Korean webtoons as e-books in English aligns with its strategy to expand its intellectual property licensing business. The aim is to cater to foreign readers interested in collecting popular web novels. Bang Sun-young, CEO of Contents First, expressed the company's commitment to strengthening its presence in the North American market through increased e-book production and enhanced collaboration with local publishing industries, leveraging the popularity of Tappytoon's intellectual properties.
