[Kiaf SEOUL] the most experimental exhibition, G Gallery

In Kiaf SEOUL, there are many famous and notable galleries. Among them, G Gallery is the most experimental gallery.


G Gallery started the ‘Great Exhibition’ project that provides exhibition opportunities for young artists in their 20s and 30s in 2019. After that, G Gallery is acting as an experimental cultural space that introduces arts of various fields, including video, new media, installation work, and performance art.

In the booth of G Gallery, B22, artworks of Lee Mijung, Hong Jungpyo, Hong Kyoung Tack, Lee Jungmin, Yang Juhae, Huh Suyon, Michael Scoggins, Taylor White and Robert Moreland are represented.

A large LED is installed in front of the booth, and an animation with a fan running in it is played continuously. Lee Jungmin uses MS PowerPoint to create her animation artwork. She expresses an experienced time of object and recreates the time different from an absolute time.

Hong Kyoung Tack is known for his colorful works of pencils and books. His paintings feature rhythmic patterns of repetition and alteration. On one side of the booth, his another style artworks of Hong Kyoung Taek, ‘power, corruption and lies’ and ‘Master & Slave’, are displayed. These titles come from lyrics of pop music and he used himself as a model that fit the expression.

Inside the booth, Taylor White's "Unseen Forces" work is on display. Taylor White is an experimental artist who rejects the many pre-existing rules of art, instead opting to work on blurring the boundaries between abstraction and figuration, and painting and sculpture.

In addition, various and experimental works can be seen at the G Gallery. The exhibition period is until the 6th when the Kiaf SEOUL ends.
