A fire broke out on Thursday morning during a performance by girl group aespa for the upcoming episode of cable channel Mnet's weekly music show "Mcountdown." According to CJ ENM, the channel operator, no injuries were suffered as a result of the incident.
The fire started at the CJ ENM building in Mapo District, western Seoul, but was promptly extinguished, as confirmed by CJ ENM. It originated from a spark at the edge of the stage, which then caught fire on the set.

Upon discovering the fire, staff evacuated both the audience and members of aespa from the studio and successfully brought the fire under control, CJ ENM reported.
CJ ENM stated, "We found no injuries among the attendants," and added, "We treated the 'Mcountdown' studio set with flame retardants and will thoroughly re-examine the maintenance status to prevent the same problem from recurring."
Reports indicate that other acts resumed recording their performances following the incident.
Despite the fire, aespa is set to appear for the live session of the "Mcountdown" show, with the exception of member Winter, who recently underwent pneumothorax surgery.
The music show is scheduled to broadcast at 6 p.m. on Thursday as originally planned.
