Korean artist, Taemook Jang, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Asian to be invited for a solo exhibition at the esteemed Millet Museum of Art. His artwork, all titled "Trees Carved in a Thousand Rivers," offers a transformative experience. Viewers are taken on a visual journey where flat surfaces seem to become three-dimensional and vice versa. Jang's pieces are deeply influenced by Asian philosophies, with serene compositions focusing on elements like water, air, and land, showcasing his spiritual exploration.
Jang has a unique ability to transfer his innermost contemplations onto canvas, capturing moments that reflect on the concept of eternity. While his works represent modern Korea, they also touch upon universal cultural challenges. Apart from his artistic achievements, Jang imparts his knowledge to students as a professor in the Department of Painting at Keimyung University's College of Fine Arts.
