"Supernova," a hit track by K-pop girl group aespa, has been selected as the background music for the renowned fountain show at Dubai Festival City Mall, SM Entertainment announced on Friday. Starting last Sunday, the song, one of two lead singles from aespa's first studio album, is being featured in the show for the next year.

The "Imagine Show," held at the canal in front of the mall, is a prominent tourist attraction in Dubai and is recognized by Guinness World Records for having the world's largest water screen projection and permanent projection mapping. The show is known for its impressive fountain displays, which incorporate advanced technology such as color projectors, LED lights, lasers, and drones, all synchronized with the music.

This marks the first time a song by a K-pop girl group has been selected for the fountain show. Previously, "Hurdle" by Suho of the boy group EXO was the first K-pop song to be featured in the show.
