Entertainment giant CJ ENM announced on Thursday that the South Korean romance drama series "Queen of Tears" has received critical acclaim and achieved impressive viewership ratings, along with high rankings on global streaming platforms.

Written by renowned screenwriter Park Ji-eun, known for her work on popular Korean romance dramas such as "My Love from the Star" and "Crash Landing on You," "Queen of Tears" stars Kim Ji-won and Kim Su-hyun in the lead roles, portraying a couple facing challenges in their marriage three years after tying the knot.

According to data from Netflix's global top 10 list in the TV Non-English category for the period of March 11-17, "Queen of Tears" secured the third position, climbing four spots compared to the previous week. The series debuted on March 9 and has since garnered significant attention.

Additionally, "Queen of Tears" topped Netflix Japan's top 10 TV show list on March 11, as reported by US-based streaming analytics firm FlixPatrol. The series has received a high rating of 4.3 out of 5 on Filmarks, Japan's largest content review website, with praise for the cast's performances and Park Ji-eun's storytelling.
