A groundbreaking residential development has officially opened in Neubiberg, Germany, showcasing a revolutionary approach to modern neighborhood living through sustainable construction and thoughtful community design. The Modular Timber Residential Quarter Am Rathausplatz, completed in 2025, represents a collaborative effort between kontektum architektur and Boschmann + Feth Architekten, covering an impressive 8,600 square meters of thoughtfully planned residential space.
The ambitious project successfully combines urban densification with ecological responsibility and social diversity, creating a vibrant community designed to accommodate a wide range of housing needs and lifestyle preferences. The development features an innovative mix of terraced houses, semi-detached homes, and single-family residences, all strategically arranged to foster both individual privacy and meaningful social interaction among residents.
Led by Andreas Maria Lang, the design team included Maria Fan, Jakob Kartenbeck, Hermann Plöckl, Marlen Kärcher, and Camila Preve, while the technical implementation was overseen by Hermann Plöckl, Sophie Krieger, Meike Wittenberg, and Malgorzata Burkot. The project's construction was expertly handled by Rubner Haus GmbH, with landscape architecture provided by TERRABIOTA Landschaftsarchitekten und Stadtplaner GmbH, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the development.
