SEOUL — The National Institute of Korean Language announced Friday that it will launch new courses in its K-Teacher Program, an online training initiative for overseas Korean language educators, starting in June.
The expanded program will feature four types of courses: a general curriculum, region-specific courses, locally customized classes, and personalized learning tracks. The institute recommends that teachers select courses based on their individual teaching environments and needs.
The general curriculum, which has been available since last year, will be joined by the new specialized courses next month. The K-Teacher Program is accessible through the Center for Teaching and Learning Korean’s official website. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and a digital badge.
To strengthen its outreach and impact, the institute will partner with the King Sejong Institute Foundation. Graduates of the K-Teacher Program may be prioritized in the hiring process for local instructor positions affiliated with the foundation.
Outstanding participants may also be invited to a separate advanced training program hosted by the institute.
As part of its international push, the institute plans to promote the program in countries including Japan, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Israel.
