In 2005, Korean-American graffiti artist David Choe received an unusual proposal from Sean Parker, who was the president of Facebook at the time.
Sean Parker asked him to paint a mural at Facebook headquarters, offering him payment in either several thousand dollars in cash or Facebook stock.
Although the artist initially thought the offer was absurd and meaningless, he decided to take the stock.
The shares he received were valued at approximately 220 billion Korean won in 2012.
As Facebook grew and its corporate value skyrocketed, David Choe's story of striking gold underscores the importance of focusing on future potential.
