The project combines the talents of Noh Kyung Chan, author of the acclaimed webtoon "A Man of 40, Undefeatable Father" (지천명 아비무쌍), with the creative planning expertise of JGB Public and the distinct artistic style of illustrator Kim Dae Hoon. Together, they deliver high-quality work in the genre of East Asian fantasy.
The narrative begins with an elderly Choi Mu Seon participating in a divine interview to become a god, boldly declaring his aspirations. It then transitions to his childhood, weaving a tale that spans his life as a soldier and scientist. The story highlights Choi’s groundbreaking contributions to Korea’s history of gunpowder and firearms, portraying his achievements engagingly and imaginatively.
Comprising a total of five episodes, "The Legend of Hwapo" will be available for free on KakaoPage starting December 11. The webtoon is expected to captivate readers by blending historical depth with elements of fantasy, providing a fresh perspective on Choi’s legacy.
