Sleepy is set to release his new track Check on November 29 at 6 PM KST through various online music platforms. The song is part of the OST for Hip-Hop (OST Part 13), a project that pays homage to Korea's first dance-themed comic book.

The comic Hip-Hop, celebrated for its dynamic dance battle scenes and detailed explanations of various moves, gained widespread popularity during its run. It was particularly praised for unifying and documenting regional terminologies for dance techniques, contributing to Korea's street dance culture.

The commemorative album, which includes Check, has been in the works for the past two years. It features a diverse lineup of artists such as Veopard, Poy, BXB, Jung Sang Soo, Lil Jae Woo, Bruno Champman, Moe, Jimmy Brown, Lil June x Zika, Way Up GG, 909, Vaniller, Lil Thunder 11, and Woo Won Jae. These collaborations aim to reflect the multifaceted genres and emotions of that era.

Check draws from old-school hip-hop and boom bap genres, styles that defined the late 1990s and early 2000s when the comic was first serialized. With Sleepy’s distinct voice amplifying the song’s emotional depth, the track delivers a sense of authenticity that resonates with fans of both hip-hop and nostalgia. Sleepy also contributed to the songwriting, adding a personal touch to the project.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, Sleepy shared, “Reading the Hip-Hop comic during my childhood introduced me to the world of hip-hop and ultimately led me to pursue music. This song is my tribute to that time and to the pioneers of Korean hip-hop.”

The commemorative album, which explores various genres such as hip-hop, rock, and R&B, is being released every Friday at 6 PM. Each installment reflects on the cultural and musical spirit of the Hip-Hop comic’s era. The album's collaborative nature brings together artists who aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia for fans who lived through that vibrant time.

Pre-orders for the album will open on December 2 via the official Naturally Music website. Additionally, the project will culminate in the release of Kit Page, a groundbreaking smart comic book in kit album format, set to debut at the end of December.

Through Check and the broader Hip-Hop OST project, Sleepy and his fellow artists pay homage to an influential cultural milestone while inviting a new generation to explore its legacy.
