Riot Games has revealed the 2025 roadmap for Teamfight Tactics (TFT), a strategy game based on the League of Legends universe, promising an array of fresh sets, content, and esports events for players worldwide.

TFT’s 2025 update includes the release of multiple thematic sets. Set 14, themed Cyber City, is slated for March, followed by Set 15 in July, which will adopt an animated tournament concept. The year will conclude with Set 16, set against a Runeterra backdrop in winter. Beyond these regular sets, Riot plans to reimagine existing themes such as Fates: Festival of Beasts in January, overhaul the Double Up mode in spring, and introduce a new PvE experience in the summer of 2025.

The TFT esports scene will also see significant developments. Riot Games announced that the final tournament of the year, TFT Open, will be held in Paris. The event will follow an open bracket format, encouraging wide participation. Paris has previously hosted notable Riot esports events, including the 2019 League of Legends World Championship finals and the 2024 semifinals.

The recently concluded TFT Macau Open showcased the game’s growing popularity, with over 2,000 participants applying for the main event. From this pool, 512 players competed, including notable Korean player Cho Joon Hee (alias Doonijooni), who advanced to the top 32.

Michael Sherman, Riot Games’ Global Head of Esports for TFT and 2XKO, commented, “In 2025, we will synchronize content updates with esports tournament schedules to provide a cohesive and engaging experience for players.” Peter Whelan, TFT Game Director, added, “Our goal is to ensure that players continue to have fun and rewarding experiences through TFT.”

The roadmap also highlights Riot’s commitment to refining the TFT experience, with gameplay updates tailored to player feedback and expanding competitive opportunities to global audiences.

Further details about TFT’s 2025 integrated roadmap can be found on Riot Games' official website.
