Actors Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh are set to deliver a heartwarming romantic comedy in tvN’s upcoming weekend drama Potato Research Institute.

On February 4, the production team unveiled the drama’s official group poster, featuring the employees of the Potato Research Institute, heightening curiosity about the rural setting and its unique characters.

At the forefront is Kim Mi Kyung (played by Lee Sun Bin), a passionate potato researcher, surrounded by her equally devoted colleagues dressed in work pants and gloves, fully immersed in their daily tasks. In contrast, So Baek Ho (played by Kang Tae Oh) stands apart, exuding an air of perfection, his demeanor starkly different from the down-to-earth researchers.

Potato Research Institute is a romantic comedy that follows the story of Mi Kyung, whose life revolves around potatoes, and Baek Ho, a cold and pragmatic corporate executive who unexpectedly disrupts her peaceful world. Their clashing personalities set the stage for a whirlwind of emotions.

Lee Sun Bin takes on the role of Kim Mi Kyung, a woman deeply in love with potatoes and her research. Kang Tae Oh plays So Baek Ho, an executive in charge of corporate restructuring at Wonhan Retail, who finds himself entangled in Mi Kyung’s life.

The cast also includes Yoo Seung Mok, Kwak Ja Hyung, Woo Jung Won, Yoon Jung Seop, Nam Hyun Woo, and Kim Ji Ah, portraying the lively members of the research institute who bring humor and warmth to the story.

The production team expressed enthusiasm for the drama, stating, “The characters will laugh and cry over potatoes, but viewers can expect a drama free of frustrating plot twists—just like a warm and crispy potato, filled with humor and relatable moments.”

Potato Research Institute is scheduled to premiere on March 1 at 9:20 PM (KST) on tvN, promising a refreshing and heartfelt romance set against the backdrop of rural life.
