SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo is set to fulfill his military duty, beginning his alternative service on April 3.
On the 5th, Pledis Entertainment announced the news via Weverse, stating, "Wonwoo will commence his military service on April 3." Following Jeonghan, who enlisted last September, Wonwoo will be the second member of SEVENTEEN to begin service.
There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment. The agency requested fans to refrain from visiting the alternative service workplace, emphasizing, "We ask for your understanding and encourage you to send your support through Weverse instead."
Despite his upcoming service, Wonwoo will participate in SEVENTEEN’s scheduled fan meeting in March as planned. "He will join the SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND fan meeting on March 20–21 and continue connecting with fans through various pre-prepared content," the agency stated.
However, he will be absent from activities starting in April. Pledis confirmed that Wonwoo will not be able to attend the Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025 festival and SEVENTEEN’s Japan fan meeting due to the start of his service.
The agency also expressed gratitude to fans, stating, "We hope for your continued love and support so that Wonwoo can complete his service diligently and return in good health."
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is set to hold SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND on March 20–21 at the Incheon Munhak Stadium’s main arena, where they will meet fans before Wonwoo's departure.
As more SEVENTEEN members approach their enlistment period, fans are watching closely how the group will navigate their activities while maintaining their strong presence in the industry.
