OMA Space, a contemporary art, design, and craft studio based in Seoul, has debuted its latest immersive installation, “Inner Power,” at Genesis Studio in Zurich, Switzerland. This installation, created in collaboration with Genesis Europe, is designed to celebrate the launch of the new Genesis Magma series, offering visitors a transformative journey that connects them with their inner strength and the elemental force of nature.

The “Inner Power” installation features a spiral walking path known as the “Inner Path,” where participants are invited to walk barefoot in slow motion, wearing headphones. This 15-minute meditative journey invites participants to experience various textures underfoot, including lava stones, pebbles, and other organic floor surfaces. The combination of these tactile sensations with surrounding lighting, video projections, and sounds creates a fully immersive, multisensory experience. Jang Jiu, the founder and artist of OMA Space, described the installation as a call for introspection and authenticity, designed to awaken, amplify, and rejuvenate each participant’s energy and vitality.

“This installation brings a humanistic approach, emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and truthfulness,” said Jang. “We believe ‘Inner Power’ can awaken and energize participants, much like the Genesis Magma series channels the deep, organic energy of the Earth. This force shapes our artistic vision, creating a space for people to rediscover their strength and vitality.”

The installation also draws inspiration from traditional circular healing processions, reimagining them in a contemporary context. For years, OMA Space has been creating similar immersive experiences, and “Inner Power” is the latest example of this ongoing exploration. The experience is designed not only to be an art installation but also a journey of self-discovery, where participants reconnect with the core of their being and experience the strength and beauty of nature.

Michael Cole, Managing Director of Genesis Europe, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that Genesis Europe is passionate about delivering unique and meaningful customer experiences both inside and outside of their vehicles. He added, “This immersive journey will help Genesis customers experience the spirit and inspiration behind the Genesis Magma series in a profoundly personal and transformative way.”

“Inner Power” offers an opportunity for participants to engage with both the physical and mental aspects of their being, providing a space for introspection and self-realization. Through the combination of sensory elements and the meditative walking journey, the installation invites each participant to embrace the natural world and feel deeply connected to the Earth.

OMA Space continues to push the boundaries of immersive art by providing experiences that transcend traditional gallery spaces. “We believe in the transformative power of art,” said Jang. “Through this collaboration with Genesis, we aim to offer a powerful, immersive journey that will leave a lasting impact on those who participate.”

The installation is open until January 31, 2025, and offers a unique opportunity for visitors to reconnect with their inner selves while experiencing the full power of nature and art in a contemporary context.
