2024, Feb 10th - As Lunar New Year's Day approaches, Avenuel Art Wall, the main branch of Lotte Department Store, is holding a special exhibition by artists KwonYong-rae, Jeong Jik-seong, and Lee Jong-ki to celebrate the ‘Year of the Blue Dragon.’ This exhibition, called 'Like a Dragon', is a special collaboration with the theme of dragons, and each artist is expected to fascinate audiences with their unique works.

Artist Kwon Yong-rae's work began as an exploration of light during his college years, and he expresses dragon scales by reflecting light of various colors on stainless steel. His work combines warm light on cold steel to express the dragon's ecstatic moment.

Artist Jeong Jik-seong depicts the majestic appearance of a dragon with intense colors and dynamic brushstrokes. His work expresses everyday life and fantasy in abstract form, giving viewers a new perspective.

Artist Lee Jong-gi presents unique works by combining the Simpsons character, a symbol of Western popular culture, with blue-and-white porcelain, a traditional Korean art. His work delightfully combines East and West, tradition and modernity, providing new fun to visitors.

In this exhibition, you can experience the mysterious world of dragons by combining the different perspectives and techniques of the three artists. Visitors are expected to be able to enjoy the beauty of dragons, both traditional and modern, through this exhibition. The exhibition will be held until March 4th at Lotte Department Store Main Branch Avenuel B2~4F Art Wall.

2024 is the year of the blue dragon. It refers to a year in the Chinese zodiac cycle. In the Chinese calendar, each year is associated with one of the twelve animals of the zodiac and one of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water). The Blue Dragon is associated with the element of Wood.


설날이 다가오며 롯데백화점 본점 에비뉴엘 아트월은 '청룡의 해'를 맞아 권용래, 정직성, 이종기 작가들의 특별 전시회를 개최합니다. 'Like a Dragon'이라는 이번 전시회는 용을 주제로 한 특별한 콜라보레이션으로, 각 작가가 개성 넘치는 작품으로 관객들을 매료시킬 것으로 기대됩니다.

권용래 작가는 대학 시절 빛에 대한 탐구로 시작한 작업으로 스테인리스 스틸에 다양한 색의 빛을 반사하여 용의 비늘을 표현합니다. 그의 작품은 차가운 스틸 위에서 따뜻한 빛이 어우러져 용의 황홀한 순간을 표현합니다.

정직성 작가는 강렬한 색채와 역동적인 붓질로 용의 웅장한 모습을 그려냅니다. 그의 작품은 일상과 환상을 추상적 형태로 표현하여 관람객들에게 새로운 시각을 선사합니다.

이종기 작가는 서구 대중문화의 상징인 심슨 캐릭터와 한국 전통 예술의 청화백자를 조합하여 독특한 작품을 선보입니다. 그의 작품은 동양과 서양, 전통과 현대를 유쾌하게 결합하여 관람객들에게 새로운 재미를 제공합니다.

이번 전시회에서는 세 작가의 각기 다른 시각과 기술이 결합되어 용의 신비로운 세계를 만나볼 수 있습니다. 관람객들은 이번 전시를 통해 전통과 현대를 아우르는 용의 아름다움을 만끽할 수 있을 것으로 기대됩니다. 전시는 3월 4일까지 롯데백화점 본점 에비뉴엘 B2~4F 아트월에서 진행됩니다.

2024년은 청룡의 해 이며 중국 황도대의 1년을 가리킵니다. 중국 달력에서 매년은 황도대의 12가지 동물 중 하나와 5가지 원소(목, 불, 흙, 금속, 물) 중 하나와 연관되어 있습니다. 청룡은 나무의 요소와 관련이 있습니다.
