Niantic has unveiled details for its upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova Region, set to take place from February 21 to 23, 2025, in Los Angeles, USA, and New Taipei City, Taiwan. The highly anticipated event, inspired by the Unova region featured in Pokémon Black & White and Black 2 & White 2, promises to be the largest Pokémon GO event to date.

Trainers attending the event will collaborate to explore new experiences based on the Unova region. Participants can choose a starting habitat when purchasing their ticket and will have the opportunity to visit all four habitats during the event. Maps featuring Pokémon-specific habitats and key locations will be released in phases.

The event will introduce shiny versions of several Pokémon, including Meloetta, Deerling, Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant, making their Pokémon GO debuts. Shiny Pokémon will also hatch from eggs, and trainers can enjoy special and long-term research quests to uncover mysteries surrounding global phenomena while earning exclusive items.

Field research during the event will feature encounters with Basculin in XXS and XXL sizes, appearing more frequently across the city routes. Trainers can also look forward to enhanced gameplay benefits, including an increased chance of encountering shiny Pokémon, halved egg-hatching distances, up to six special trades per day, and reduced Stardust costs for trades.

Legendary Raid Battles will rotate hourly between Reshiram and Zekrom, with nine free Raid Passes available for participants. An upgraded Raid Pass option will allow up to 18 Raid Passes per day. Similarly, upgrading to the Egg Bonus option will reduce egg-hatching distances to one-quarter during the event. Trainers can also extend their event experience with additional upgrades to explore the city for one or two extra days, although no new research tasks will be included in these extensions.

New team challenges will encourage collaborative gameplay, offering encounters with Pokémon like Throh, Sawk, Durant, and Heatmor. Additionally, taking GO Snapshots will give trainers a chance to encounter Pikachu wearing themed hats, such as the Tussle Cap, Wrestle Cap, Resonance Cap, or Bright Cap, with the possibility of finding shiny versions of these Pikachu.

Exclusive merchandise, including T-shirts, pin badges, hoodies, and tote bags, is available for pre-order, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the celebratory atmosphere. For trainers unable to attend the in-person event, a global event will follow from March 1 to 2, offering free access to Pokémon GO players worldwide.

Niantic encourages trainers to visit the official Pokémon GO blog for detailed updates and ticketing information. With its expansive scope, rare encounters, and a variety of gameplay bonuses, the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova Region promises an unforgettable adventure for trainers of all levels.
