In a recent report by local media on Thursday, it was revealed that Choi Yena is poised to launch a new song in mid-January, marking approximately seven months since her controversial single, "Hate XX." The previous release had stirred controversy due to alleged infringement on the intellectual property rights of Olivia Rodrigo.

Following the disbandment of the project group IZ*ONE in 2018, Choi Yena embarked on a solo career. In August, she unveiled the single "Smiley – Japanese Ver. (feat. Chanmina)" in Japan, securing the impressive No. 4 spot on Oricon's daily single ranking.

Choi Yena's musical journey gained momentum with her solo debut EP, "Smiley," which saw all its tracks charting domestically. Notably, the music video for the titular track claimed the No. 1 spot on YouTube's trending video chart upon its release in January 2022. The upcoming release anticipates further contributions to Choi Yena's evolving solo career.
