Beloved K-pop group GFriend is set to reunite in January next year, in time for their 10th debut anniversary, according to reports from local media on Tuesday. The six-member group, which has been on hiatus for four years, will commemorate their decade in the industry with a yet-to-be-revealed project, confirmed by their former agency Source Music.

GFriend, known for their distinctive music and choreography, debuted in 2015 and quickly rose to fame with hit songs such as "Glass Bead," "Me Gustas Tu," "Rough," and "Navillera." However, their group activities came to an unexpected halt in 2021 when their contract with Source Music expired, leaving fans in shock and disappointment.

Since the disbandment, the members have pursued individual careers. Eunha, SinB, and Eomji reformed as the trio Viviz, releasing their first EP "Beam of Prism" in 2022, followed by three additional mini-albums and a digital single. Meanwhile, Yerin and Yoojoo have established themselves as solo artists, and Sowon has transitioned into an acting career.

This reunion project is highly anticipated by fans worldwide, as it promises to celebrate the group’s legacy while also showcasing how the members have evolved as artists during their time apart. Details regarding the nature of the reunion, including possible new music or special performances, are expected to be unveiled soon.
