K-pop sensation Stray Kids will make their highly anticipated debut performance at the American Music Awards (AMA) on October 6, as announced on Friday by the awards committee.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the AMAs are one of the most prestigious music award ceremonies in the United States, alongside the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. Stray Kids will be the second K-pop group to grace the AMA stage, following BTS, who made their first appearance at the event in 2017.
This performance follows Stray Kids' growing international success. Last year, the group won Top K-pop Album at the Billboard Music Awards and Best K-pop at the MTV Video Music Awards, solidifying their place as global icons in the K-pop industry.
In addition to their AMA performance, Stray Kids recently kicked off their "dominATE" world tour in Seoul last month. This Saturday, they will become the first K-pop group to perform at Singapore's National Stadium. The ongoing tour will take them through Australia, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong until January 2025. Plans to expand the tour to South America, North America, and Europe are also in the works, further cementing Stray Kids' global reach.
As the group continues to break barriers internationally, their AMA performance is expected to be a defining moment in their career, offering another opportunity to captivate audiences worldwide.
