Jeon Somi, the former member of the project girl group IOI, is set to make her musical return on August 2, as announced by her agency, The Black Label, on Monday. This release marks her first new music in about a year since her debut solo EP "Game Plan."

The lead single from the upcoming five-track mini-album, "Fast Forward," has already garnered international attention, entering the Billboard Global 200 chart at No. 145 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 78. This achievement highlights Jeon Somi's growing influence as a solo artist on the global stage.

Jeon Somi first gained widespread recognition in 2016 when she won the popular audition show "Produce 101," subsequently debuting as a member of IOI. Following the group's disbandment in 2017, she left JYP Entertainment and signed with The Black Label. Her solo career began in earnest in 2019 with the digital single "Birthday," and she has since released two more digital singles and one studio album, further establishing her presence in the music industry.
