K-pop's rising stars, Kiss of Life, have set their sights on one of the most prestigious stages in the world, Coachella, as they release their highly anticipated third EP "Lose Yourself." With their growing success and unique sound, the four-member girl group is determined to make their mark on the global music scene.

At a press showcase held in Seoul on Tuesday, Kiss of Life discussed their latest release and their ambitions for the future. Natty, one of the group’s members, revealed, "Since our debut, performing at Coachella has been a big dream for us. We are working hard to grow and achieve that goal." The group’s strong ambition reflects their desire to take their music beyond borders, solidifying their place in the global music industry.

The EP "Lose Yourself," which dropped on the same day, is their first release since the digital single "Sticky" in July. The track garnered significant attention for its catchy hooks and innovative blend of genres, raising expectations for the group’s next move. Julie, the group’s leader, expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received, stating, "We were overwhelmed by the love for 'Sticky,' so we worked even harder on this album to give back to our fans."

The new EP features seven tracks, each showcasing a different genre, from R&B and hip-hop to EDM and dance-pop. "Each song has a different genre, and we wanted to show our range," Belle, another member, explained. "We put a lot of thought into ensuring listeners will find something exciting with every track." This diverse approach has been a hallmark of the group, helping them stand out in the competitive K-pop landscape.

The theme of the new album revolves around "immersion," a concept that the group has deeply explored in their creative process. "We’ve previously talked about ‘freedom’ in our albums, but this time, we’re diving into immersion," Belle shared. "We wanted to show the intensity and passion that comes from being fully immersed in our dreams and the work we do."

The title track "Get Loud" leads the EP with vibrant hip-hop beats infused with Latin-inspired melodies. "It’s a song that captures the journey of artists chasing their dreams, showing how captivating and professional that journey can be," Belle elaborated. The members emphasized that the song reflects their journey as musicians, highlighting the dedication and artistry required to succeed.

During the press showcase, the group also performed "R.E.M," one of the B-side tracks. Natty explained the song’s meaning, stating, "It’s about longing for someone you see in a dream and not wanting to wake up, remaining in that dream state." The ethereal and emotional nature of the song resonated with both the group and the audience.

Since their debut in July 2023, Kiss of Life has quickly risen to prominence, becoming a leading act in the fifth generation of K-pop. They attribute their success to their distinct sound and willingness to experiment with a wide range of genres. "I believe our deep understanding of hip-hop and R&B is what sets us apart," Julie noted, pointing to the group’s genre versatility as a key to their popularity.

Fans from around the world have taken notice of Kiss of Life’s music. Natty recalled a recent overseas performance where the audience passionately sang along to their hit "Sticky." "It was amazing to see people from another country knowing all the lyrics," she said. "It really made me realize how much our music resonates with people globally."

Looking ahead, Kiss of Life is set to embark on their first-ever world tour following the release of "Lose Yourself." Starting in Seoul, the tour will take them to over 20 cities in North America. Belle expressed excitement about the upcoming tour, saying, "We’ve always dreamed of a world tour. Preparing both the album and the tour at the same time has been exhausting, but we’re excited because this is something we’ve always wanted."

As Kiss of Life continues to push boundaries and expand their reach, the group's aspirations for the Coachella stage seem well within their grasp. With their hard work, diverse music, and growing fanbase, the future looks bright for this K-pop powerhouse.
