YG Entertainment's forthcoming girl group, BabyMonster, will debut with six members instead of the initially announced seven, as former member Ahyeon has decided not to participate in the debut due to health issues, the agency confirmed on Wednesday.
The decision was prompted by Ahyeon's personal reasons, and she will take time to rest and focus on her health, according to a press release from YG Entertainment. The agency expressed regret over not being able to showcase Ahyeon as part of BabyMonster's debut but assured fans that she would receive the necessary support to return in optimal condition.

Earlier this month, YG Entertainment had announced that BabyMonster would debut as a seven-member girl group on November 27, following a two-month postponement from the initial September plan. The remaining members, including Ruka, Chiquita, Haram, Pharita, Rora, and Asa—hailing from Korea, Thailand, and Japan—will proceed with the debut as planned.
The unveiling of individual member photos has been ongoing, with Asa and Chiquita's images released so far. BabyMonster marks YG Entertainment's first girl group debut in seven years since the introduction of Blackpink and the agency's first new group in three years following the debut of Treasure in 2020.
