The donation to the Asan Medical Center is earmarked for aiding children's medical fees, while the funds directed to Jusarang Community Foundation will support programs benefiting single mothers and their children, as confirmed by Son’s agency MSteam Entertainment.

In a statement released by the agency, Son expressed that the donation is intended to serve as a Christmas gift, bringing warmth to the hearts of children facing challenges in these difficult times.
Son Ye-jin has a history of philanthropy, having previously donated 100 million won to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea in 2020, specifically to support medical treatment and Covid-19 prevention for underprivileged households.
In collaboration with her husband Hyun Bin, Son donated 200 million won to aid those who lost their homes in a forest fire in Uljin, North Gyeongsang, and Samcheok, Gangwon, in 2022.
Notably, Son has consistently shown a particular interest in supporting children in need. Her past donations have targeted children dealing with difficult-to-cure diseases and those with disabilities from underprivileged households, according to Son's agency.
