Universal Music Commemorates 50 Years of Hip-Hop and Its Own 50th Anniversary

Universal Music is organizing a special event on December 16 to celebrate the 50-year history of hip-hop and mark the company's 50th anniversary. Titled "Hip-Hop At Fifty by Universal Music," the event will be held at Avenue 123 in Itaewon, Yongsan District, central Seoul, from 6 p.m. to midnight. Admission is free, and the event is open to those aged 18 and over.

Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the five-decade history of hip-hop and explore Universal Music's journey alongside iconic artists such as 2Pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, JAY-Z, Eminem, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake.

The event will feature performances by Korean hip-hop artists including E SENS, Goldbuuda, and viceversa, as well as R&B singer-songwriter SAAY from Universal Music. Strictly Vinyl, a DJ crew comprising DJs andow, Jeyon, and maalib, will showcase their mixing skills using hip-hop vinyls from Universal Music.

In addition to the musical highlights, a talk session is scheduled, providing attendees with insights into the world of hip-hop. Rare vinyls and CDs will also be available for purchase.

Described as a comprehensive event for hip-hop enthusiasts, Universal Music aims to create a memorable experience for attendees as they celebrate both the genre's rich history and the company's half-century milestone.
