BANA, founded by Kim Ki-hyun, a former official at SM Entertainment, aims to showcase the artistic diversity of its talents.
At 29 years old, Krystal, who debuted with f(x) under SM Entertainment in 2009, left the label in 2020 to focus on her acting career, signing with H& Entertainment. Now, with her move to BANA, anticipation grows for her debut as a solo artist.

BANA's statement on Thursday emphasized the synergy expected between the agency and Krystal, highlighting her multifaceted career as both an actor and singer. Kim Ki-hyun, with ties to the powerhouse SM Entertainment, founded BANA.
Krystal, the younger sister of former Girls' Generation member Jessica, gained fame as part of f(x), known for its experimental music style incorporating electronic sounds. The group produced hits like "Hot Summer" (2011) and "Rum Pum Pum Pum" (2013).
As a Korean-American artist, Krystal made her acting debut in 2010 with the sitcom "More Charming by the Day." She has since appeared in various movies and dramas, including "Cobweb" (2023).
In a symbolic move signaling her new chapter, Krystal shared her cover of "I'm Coming Back" (1990) by American singer Lalah Hathaway on SoundCloud.
