SM Entertainment, a prominent player in the K-pop industry, is gearing up for a dynamic year ahead, announcing the debut of four new K-pop acts in 2024. Leading the lineup is NCT Wish, the latest subunit of the expansive NCT collective, set to make their debut at the "SMTown Live" concert at Tokyo Dome on Feb. 21.

NCT Wish joins other established NCT subunits, including NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV. In addition to this, SM Entertainment plans to introduce a new girl group, its first virtual artist named naevis, recognized as aespa's Kwangya helper, and a British K-pop boy group.

Last year, SM Entertainment revealed its collaboration with the British entertainment company M&B to launch a boy group in the UK. Nigel Hall, the producer behind British competition shows like "The X Factor" and "Britain's Got Talent," leads M&B. The collaboration aims to produce a six-episode TV series documenting the creation of the forthcoming K-pop group comprised of British members.

Expanding its global footprint, SM Entertainment recently enlisted the expertise of 84 local music composers through its music publishing affiliate, Kreation Music Rights. The label plans to establish an American branch of Kreation Music Rights this year, focusing on recruiting American composers. Additionally, the label intends to organize at least two large-scale song camps to enhance production capabilities.

Several major artists under the SM Entertainment umbrella are slated to release new albums in the second quarter of 2024. This includes solo albums from Ten and Taeyong of NCT, Wendy of Red Velvet's solo EP in March, and an EP from NCT Dream in the same month. Noteworthy comebacks in the second quarter will also feature BoA, Suho of EXO, Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation, Doyoung of NCT, SHINee, Red Velvet, and WayV.

Moreover, the second quarter is marked by standalone concerts from NCT Dream, aespa, Super Junior, Super Junior L.S.S., and NCT Ten, as SM Entertainment continues to captivate global audiences with its diverse musical offerings.
