YG Entertainment announced on Thursday that the singer-songwriter duo AKMU, also known as Akdong Musician, has revealed the official name for their fan community: Akkademy.
Described as a combination of "AKMU" and "academy," the name signifies an organization centered around art, according to a press release from YG Entertainment.

Fans can purchase memberships for Akkademy from AKMU's Weverse shop starting Thursday until April 4.
Titled "AKMU 10th Anniversary Project," the celebrations will include various programs as a gesture of gratitude to the fans who have supported AKMU throughout their musical journey for the past decade.

YG Entertainment shared a poster welcoming fans to Akkademy and announcing the anniversary project on their social media platforms on Thursday.
AKMU, comprised of siblings Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun, rose to prominence after winning the second season of SBS's audition program "K-Pop Star" (2012-13). They made their debut under YG Entertainment in April 2014 with their first album "Play" and have since released hits such as "200%" (2014), "Dinosaur" (2020), and "Love Lee" (2023).
The duo is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Summer Sonic music festival on August 17 in Tokyo.
