Stray Kids received the Global Spotlight Award for their self-produced short film “SKZFLIX” at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2024. The festival, held in Shibuya, Japan, is one of Asia’s largest international short film festivals and is officially recognized by the Academy Awards.

The 2024 festival featured 270 films selected from over 4,936 entries from 114 regions, focusing on the theme "Illuminate Your Life." The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday.

Stray Kids were not present at the ceremony but delivered an acceptance speech via video. Felix, one of the group members, remarked, “We had a lot of fun filming ‘SKZFLIX’ with the members, and it’s very meaningful to receive an award for it.” Director Kim Byeong-june also expressed his gratitude, stating that the project originated from a collaborative idea and gained recognition due to interest in Stray Kids and K-pop.

“SKZFLIX” is a music drama showcasing the eight members of Stray Kids as they navigate the challenges of creating a film through the lens of a film club.

In recent months, Stray Kids have expanded their influence across various fields. On May 10, they released a collaborative single, “Lose My Breath,” with Charlie Puth. They also attended the Met Gala, becoming the first K-pop group to do so, and received acclaim for their fashion from outlets such as GQ, British GQ, Rolling Stone, and Billboard.

This summer, Stray Kids are set to perform at three major music festivals: I-Days in Milan, BST Hyde Park in London, and Lollapalooza in Chicago.
