'Dreams In My Hand', Ayako Rokkaku holds a Solo exhibition in Seoul

A Japanese contemporary artist Ayako Rokkaku's solo exhibition, 'Dreams In My Hands' will be held until March 24 next year at the Seoul Art Center in Seoul, South Korea.

Ayako is a contemporary artist from Japan who is well known for improvising with acrylic paint on her bare hands instead of tools. Although she had no formal art education, she began painting to broaden her expression. She is attracting great attention in the art world based on her high public recognition, with her work being sold for 1.6 billion won at the 52nd SBI Auction in Japan in 2002.

The exhibition will display about 130 works, including her early works and large objects, collected since 2006. From her early works when she was painting on corrugated cardboard in a park in Tokyo, to her works after moving to Amsterdam, the Netherlands the audience can feel the history of the artist's painting style.

Through the exhibition, she will present not only drawings, paintings, and large sculptures, but also animated works. The animation 'About Earth', which will be released through the exhibition, was produced by the artist with Tokyo's music label 'Contarede."

The audience will appreciate fantastic and colorful landscapes, improvised without sketches, and heart-warming works based on small flowers, animals, and girls through the exhibition.
