Sayart.net - Dual Perspectives: Anders Krisár & Jin Meyerson′s Two-Person Exhibition at GALLERY2

Renowned artists Anders Krisár and Jin Meyerson are set to showcase their two-person exhibition titled "TWO-FOLD" at GALLERY2 in Korea from April 13th to May 13th. This exhibition, which originally debuted in Stockholm, Sweden last year, delves into the autobiographical perspectives of the two artists, as they explore the concept of "persona" in their respective works.

Anders Krisár, a Swedish sculptor born in 1973, is known for his sharp dissections of the human body in his sculptures. His realistic pieces often elicit a strong reaction from viewers, as he challenges preconceived notions of the human form and delves into the complexities of the human psyche. Krisár intentionally scratches his impeccably crafted statues, using his art as a means to express recurring themes of fear and violence against objects of beauty.

On the other hand, Jin Meyerson, a Korean-American painter currently residing in Seoul, is known for his dynamic paintings that incorporate various visual elements. His works feature collisions of color, line, light, and other elements that transport viewers to another world. Meyerson, who began his career in New York in the early 2000s, has been credited with contributing to the revival of figurative painting and has been incorporating CG systems into his works since the late 1990s. His paintings often explore themes of migration, loss of heritage, and postcolonialism, bridging the gap between figuration and abstraction.

Both Krisár and Meyerson have over 20 years of experience as artists, with their works being featured in renowned galleries and art collections worldwide. A common thread in their works is their exploration of surrealism and the dual psychological effect they elicit in viewers. Both artists also use personal symbolism throughout their works, further adding depth and meaning to their artistic expressions.
