Gallery Shilla Daegu is concluding 2024 with its final exhibition, “Winter Greetings,” showcasing an exceptional collection of works by renowned domestic and international artists. The exhibition, running from December 5 to 28, highlights significant pieces from the gallery’s collection, including works presented earlier this year in Daegu and Seoul.

The exhibition features globally celebrated artists such as Richard Long, Alan Charlton, Robert Barry, Jane Benson, Tadaaki Kuwayama, Akio Agirashi, Kishio Suga, Nobuaki Maeda, and Takashi Suzuki. Additionally, it includes works by notable Korean artists like Kim Yong Ik, Seo Seung Won, Choi Myoung Young, Shim Moon Pil, Sung Neung Kyung, Kim Young Jin, Lee Myung Mi, Park Doo Young, Shin Soo Hyuk, Park Chang Seo, Yoon Sang Ryul, and Kimchi and Chips.

A standout feature of the exhibition is Richard Long’s pieces, which explore the intersection of art and nature by incorporating natural elements into his work. Alan Charlton, known for his dedication to monochromatic grey paintings over four decades, presents his minimalist canvases, while Kishio Suga’s installations juxtapose natural and artificial materials, encouraging viewers to reconsider their relationships with the environment.

The exhibition also includes works by artists previously featured in solo exhibitions at Gallery Shilla. Kim Yong Ik’s conceptual pieces challenge conventional perspectives, while Seo Seung Won’s paintings reflect his 60-year exploration of simultaneity. Sung Neung Kyung, a pioneer in trans-genre conceptual art, captivates with his innovative approach.

A representative from Gallery Shilla described the exhibition as “a rare opportunity to experience the work of artists who have spent decades refining their unique artistic visions, all in one space.”

“Winter Greetings” offers a comprehensive overview of modern and contemporary art, showcasing a variety of artistic styles and philosophies. By featuring both established and emerging artists, the exhibition celebrates the diversity and depth of the global art scene, inviting visitors to reflect on the intersections of nature, culture, and creativity.

Gallery Shilla, known for its dedication to curating meaningful exhibitions, has provided the art community with a chance to revisit the year’s most compelling works while setting the stage for future artistic dialogues.
