The parents of NewJeans members have opened an official Instagram account, citing the need to correct misinformation regarding the ongoing legal dispute with HYBE. The account was launched on January 31, with the parents clarifying that it will be operated temporarily as a spokesperson channel for the members.

According to the parents, their statements have been either distorted or selectively reported. While a handful of media outlets accurately conveyed their stance, they claim such instances were rare. Efforts to distribute statements through PR agencies also reportedly failed, as headlines were misleadingly written, making it difficult to communicate their position without distortion.

They further argued that, unlike their statements, HYBE and ADOR’s perspectives have been overwhelmingly represented in the media. The parents alleged that hundreds of articles are being published daily that either misrepresent facts or exclusively echo HYBE and ADOR’s stance. They also claimed that some of these reports bypass the standard journalistic procedures of fact-checking and rebuttal rights.

Anticipating potential fatigue from the public, the parents expressed their apologies for the prolonged legal dispute. However, they emphasized that an independent communication channel is necessary to accurately convey the facts, as the members themselves are unable to speak directly about the matter.

Meanwhile, ADOR has filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract. On January 23, NewJeans enlisted legal representation from Shin & Kim, a major South Korean law firm, signaling their firm stance in the dispute. The group has also begun considering alternative stage names, indicating that they may not return to ADOR.

The situation has continued to escalate, with both parties actively mobilizing legal and media strategies. As the battle between NewJeans' parents and HYBE unfolds, the K-pop industry watches closely to see how this unprecedented conflict will impact not only the future of the group but also the broader landscape of artist-agency relations.
